July 4th
This weekend while at my parents house, I was looking at my baby book to compare my baby pictures to Cace and I'm now even more confused to whether he looks like me or Michael. His old grandpa hair is definitely from me and his eyes are mine. I forgot that I had big eyes as a kid and my eyes were for quite a while. I'm not sure when they turned green, but they were still blue at around 10 months. So, we'll probably have to wait a while to see what color his eyes are going to be.
It was also fun to see read all the stuff my Mom wrote and made me realize I need to do a better job of documenting everything he's doing.
Some of the best stuff from my baby book....
Some of my first words were shoes and trying to say pickles (I love both!!).
When I was 4 after going on vacation camping at Inks Lake, we got back home and I saw my cousin Michael. He had also been on vacation and we were trading vacation stories. Michael tells me, "I saw Shamu" and I respond with, "I I I saw... a cactus... and it had flowers". ( I still have never seen Shamu). With Cace, I hope that he can experience both...the relaxation and joy of enjoying the great outdoors, but also get to do all of the classic kid stuff like go to Sea World and Disney World that I never got to do.
So, back to Cace....
He is getting to be such a big boy. He is much more aware of his surroundings and loves to look at toys, lights and ceiling fans. He is also smiling and laughing a lot when people talk to him. He is also doing such a great job of holding his head up a little bit if you hold him by his stomach.
He is a little wiggle worm and loves to move his arms and legs around. He also has been lifting his head and pushing with his legs when you hold him on your chest. It amazes me how strong he is and can't wait until he can jump and crawl and play.
This last week he slept all night for a few nights. The last couple of nights he has gotten up at around 4:30 to eat, but then goes back to bed. So, he may not be quite ready to go without eating all night.
Here are some pics of him playing at his activity mat and looking at the mobile on his swing.
Cace and I went to my parents house for 4th of July and Cace had a great time smiling and laughing at everyone. He also had a great time sitting outside under the tree with the boys and going on the front porch with the girls!!

The Hall family
Michael's grandmother, Dean, has been visiting from Alabama for the last few weeks. We took some pictures last night before she had to leave this morning. Cace is going to miss getting kisses every day from his Dean!!

Here are some pics of Cace with some family. We're planning to take some pictures with the Malone side of the family on Thursday before Dean leaves, so I'll get those up this weekend.

Cace's room
I know I've been a slacker with updating this. We are having a hard time getting an internet signal at the new house. Hopefully I get it figured out soon!!
Cace has been growing like a weed!! We went to the doctor last Monday and he was already up to 8 lbs 8 oz. It seems that he is getting bigger and bigger every day.
I've finally got some pictures of Cace's room all put together. We haven't used it much... mostly for changing diapers and clothes. He's been sleeping in our room in the bassinet or in the living room in his swing.

Mom's turn with a camera
I'm sure Cace didn't love me very much this morning while I snapped away, but I think it was worth it to get such cute pics of him. Enjoy!!
Hello World!!
Cace Patrick Malone made his debut into the world on Tuesday, May 17th, 2011 at 3:04 pm. He was 19.5 inches long and weighed 6 lbs 14 oz.
Due to the gestational diabetes, Dr. Hicks didn't want me to go beyond 39 weeks. When we went to my appointment on the 16th, he told us to come to the hospital that night at midnight to be induced. After a long night of getting poked and prodded, they began the pitocin around 6:45 that morning. Dr. Hicks came to break my water about an hour later and we were on our way to having a baby!!
At the nurse shift change at 2:00, the new nurse checked me and I was 9.5 cm dilated. She got the room ready and called Dr. Hicks. We began pushing around 2:30 or so, then had to wait for Dr. Hicks to get there, and Cace entered the world a little after 3:00.
My mom (T-Ma) and Michael's mom (MoMo) were waiting outside and once they were able to come in, T-Ma attacked with the camera!! She got lots of great pictures to capture the moment and how stinking adorable he is!!
We are so excited for him to be here and just can't get enough of him!! He has been so good so far. He sleeps a lot and eats really well. We went to his first doctor's appointment on Tuesday, the 24th and he had already grown a .5 inch and weighed 7 lbs 3 oz.
I also can't say enough about all of our family and friends and all of the support they have given us and Cace during the pregnancy and since he was born. Cace has so many people who love him!!
